I am a psychotherapist who as been in practice since 1969 (see www.maybenatar.com) I have taught, published, and lectured on the subjects of adult development, trauma, and grief for the last couple of decades. I am trying my hand at blogging for the first time, in an attempt to hone my skills in translating what I have learned over a professional lifetime, to a new context.
In addition to professional experience i count the raising of two (now) adult daughters and welcoming to the world a couple of very sweet grandchildren in the last few years. My hope is that my thoughts might be useful to lay readers as they deal with the ordinary challenges of adult life: parenting dilemmas, coping with loss, dealing with the ever present transitions in life. Sometimes I will be reacting to other blogs, the news, a new self help book on the market, or what comes over the air on NPR that day.
I hope readers will let me know what resonates with them as well as what fails to be meaningful. This will help me find my way in this new endeavor.
